Hyundai Automotive has Sales Sights on Luxury Genesis Brand

Luxury brands aren’t selling as well as they used to, but Hyundai Automotive is planning to change that. Officials at the automaker’s headquarters are confident that Hyundai Automotive can sell at least 50,000 units of its luxury nameplate, Genesis. In fact, they are not only confident about its sales goals, on spokesperson went so far as to say the Genesis could “shatter premium automobile paradigms.”

The luxury sports sedan created by Hyundai Automotive went on sale at the end of June. So far, it’s on track to sell at least 1,200 by the end of August. As for the entire year, the vice president of product development for Hyundai Automotive said the company is going to sell 8,000.

The 50,000 target also includes the coupe version of the Genesis. That won’t be released until the beginning of 2009.

Hyundai Automotive has more than $500 million invested in this luxury vehicle which, according to this article, is “the company’s most ambitious vehicle introduction ever in the United States.” The Korean automaker is making great strides in changing North America’s perception towards its vehicles and officials feel there is no better way to do that than to release a state-of-the-art luxury vehicle. Shattering current luxury vehicle sales records wouldn’t be bad, either.

With all of the hype about the Genesis, why not visit your local Hyundai dealer today to see why everybody is so excited about it? You might end up making it 50,001 sales.
